A couple of NHL teams have been performing exceptionally well as of late, which has contributed to this Sunday having a slate of games that are sure to be exciting. We also have a matchup against some teams that are having trouble winning games and would be thrilled to walk away with two points.
Colorado Avalanche (-111) vs. St. Louis Blues (-110) | o/u 6 (-114/-106)
When the Avalanche and the Blues played each other for the last time, it was a very entertaining game. Although the Avs had a two-man advantage in the game’s final minutes, Jordan Binnington played exceptionally well to ensure that they would take home the victory.
When that happened, the Blues were in the midst of an impressive winning streak; however, since then, they have gone on a losing streak, dropping seven of their last nine games, and Binnington has given up at least four goals in each of his previous six starts.
Injuries have been a problem for Colorado, and as a result, they are having trouble scoring goals; in their last four contests, they have scored a total of just five goals. It is possible that the absence of Nathan McKinnon will have a negative impact on this team.

Because of this, Colorado will not be able to score, and the Blues will not be able to stop Colorado from scoring. I think it will take some time for Colorado’s new line combinations to find a rhythm with each other, so I have a good feeling about the Blues taking the game at home.
Pick: Blues ML (-110)
Boston Bruins (-152) vs. Las Vegas Golden Knights (+126) | o/u 6 (-108/-112)
Both the Bruins and the Golden Knights are formidable teams, and this matchup has all the makings of a potential Stanley Cup final. After taking a 3-0 lead in the previous meeting, the Golden Knights appeared to be in control of the game. However, the Bruins responded with three goals of their own, forcing overtime and ultimately resulting in Vegas’s victory in a shootout.
The Golden Knights have been dominant on both ends of the ice, but rookie goaltender Logan Thompson has been a significant factor in their success, posting the tenth-best save percentage in the league and two shutouts.
It is not easy to identify a weak spot on this Boston team. Their forward unit attacks the zone better than anyone else, and in addition to that, they have Linus Ullmark, who leads the league in every goalkeeping category and is the best in the league overall.
The Bruins have been holding Ullmark back for this contest because they believe he will be the game-changing factor that will give them the victory.
Pick: Bruins 60 Min ML (+110)
The over/under for this match is 6.5 (-120/-102) and it features the Seattle Kraken taking on the Florida Panthers.
The Kraken would relish the opportunity to exact their vengeance on the Panthers, who ended their seven-game winning streak the previous week. Since then, they have lost the two matches that immediately followed, and throughout their three defeats, they have been outscored by a total of 13 points.
The Panthers have been victorious in three of their most recent five games, but they could be facing a number of challenges in this match. They will be playing the second game of a back-to-back and their goaltender, Spencer Knight, did not play on Saturday so he may not be available for this game.
In addition, the Panthers are missing a couple of players from their forward unit, which is another factor that might come into play. All of that will play a part, and the Kraken are an excellent underdog pick for tonight’s game.
Pick: Kraken ML (+134)
